Wyndford Wagyu, known for producing the highest quality 100% full-blood wagyu beef, has swept up at a series of prestigious industry awards this year, establishing itself as a cut above the rest.
The Shropshire-based business has won a gold medal for its exceptional Ribeye Steak in the beef category at the Great British Food Awards. The Great British Food team praised the steak, stating, “The Wyndford Wagyu Ribeye Steak we tested for the awards was exceptional. The lovely marbling throughout the meat ensured it was incredibly tender once cooked. Its rich flavour made it a standout choice, perfect for any special occasion or gourmet meal. A true indulgence for steak lovers!” Judge Ben Crittenden added: “I was excited when it was delivered, excited to try it, and it lived up to the excitement.”
But that’s not all—Wyndford Wagyu also won a gold medal at the 2024 World Steak Challenge, becoming the only UK winners in the wagyu category. This recognition highlights world-class steak production on a global stage.
The brand also added to its Great Taste Awards collection with two stars for their Rump Cap Picanha. Judges were once again impressed, commenting, “Tastes like butter. Tender, moist, succulent and delicious. It tastes as though it’s been seasoned… and we know it hasn’t. The fat is rich and creamy. A cracking meaty, full-on, savoury flavour. Wonderful!”
Jess Edwards, commercial director at Wyndford Wagyu, said: “We feel prouder each day. We’ve been producing premium wagyu for a couple of years now, and we never expected to achieve so many awards in such a short time. But the steak speaks for itself, and it’s exciting to hear others speak so highly of Wyndford.”
