What is your background?
Jess has a strong agricultural background and graduated from Harper Adams in 2016 with a degree in Agriculture with Animal Science. Having worked in the dairy industry since completing her degree Jess has built up a wealth of knowledge when it comes to data analysis, product development, cattle genetics and animal health and welfare. When the opportunity arose at Wyndford Wagyu, Jess was ready to join the exciting venture.
What is your role & responsibility?
Jess’ role of Commercial Director means that she is responsible for all of Wyndford’s National and International genetic sales, managing all aspects of the Business and the Herds genetic progression.
Favourite part of the job?
“My favourite part of the job is working in such a fast paced business and being involved in all aspects of the company’s progression. We have a great team here at Wyndford Wagyu and all enjoy being part of this exciting new venture. I love that we produce a premium product, that we know every animal by name and treat them all as individuals.”
Favourite animal?
“My favourite animal is Wyndford Nakagishiro 10 (WYNFR89263). She was one of the first suckler calves born when I arrived. She was tiny, only 23.5kg, but had real spark. We affectionately called her Shakira as her hips didn’t lie when she was running around the barn like a maniac. She has a lovely curly coat like her father L0010 and I hope she is a successful breeding female for us.”
